Web Safe fonts refers those fonts that are most common or generic fonts and which integrate most Web Browsers and are used on all operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Mac. If you are a designer and design various kinds of web pages on any of these systems or use any browser then they will be looked exactly similar.
Most of the web developers and designers who works in conversion from PSD to HTML section frequently faced font selection issue. So we have to choose a safe font that mostly used in all operating systems and supported by common web browsers. I've tried to sort out some most common web font and prepare nice resource of web fonts for web developers and designers.

Verdana is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Matthew Carter for Microsoft Corporation, with hand-hinting done by Thomas Rickner

Copperplate Gothic Light is a typeface designed by Frederic W. Goudy and released by the American Type Founders (ATF) in 1901


Palatino is the name of a large typeface family that began as an old style serif typeface designed by Hermann Zapf initially released in 1948 by the Linotype foundry.

Tahoma is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Matthew Carter for the Microsoft Corporation in 1994 with initial distribution along with Verdana for Windows 95.

Century Gothic is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed for Monotype Imaging in 1991. It is a digital typeface that has never been made into actual foundry type

Lucida Sans Unicode OpenType font from the design studio of Bigelow & Holmes is designed to support the most commonly used characters defined in version 2.0 of the Unicode standard.

Arial, sometimes marketed or displayed in software as Arial MT, is a sans-serif typeface and set of computer fonts.



Times New Roman is a serif typeface commissioned by the British newspaper The Times in 1931, created by Victor Lardent at the English branch of Monotype.[

Trebuchet MS is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Vincent Connare for the Microsoft Corporation in 1996. It is named after the trebuchet, a medieval siege engine.

Courier is a monospaced slab serif typeface designed to resemble the output from a strike-on typewriter.

Georgia is a variant of Georgia consisting of a single weight, but with extra characters. It is bundled with Microsoft Bookshelf 2000

Impact is a realist sans-serif typeface designed by Geoffrey Lee in 1965 and released by the Stephenson Blake foundry. Its ultra-thick strokes, compressed letterspacing, and minimal interior counterform are specifically aimed, as its name suggests, to "impact"
